In JSC “Regional Electric Networks” (Novosibirsk) XLPE cables have been applied for a long time. Not so long ago for the first time it was decided to implement a temperature monitoring system for the project “Overhead line 110 kV Vostochnaya-Bibliotechnaya with a tap at 110 kV Voinskaya”, Novosibirsk . Our companies signed a contract for temperature monitoring system supply and commissioning. The temperature rise of XLPE power cable leads to malfunction. One of the latest solutions for maximum bandwidth utilization of cable lines with XLPE insulation is to use a temperature monitoring system. Installing the monitoring system since 2006 is a standard solution in the construction of high-voltage cable systems. One of the manufacturers of such equipment is the company Lios Technology ( Germany). Estralin delivered about 35 temperature monitoring systems 110-550 kV.
