The project PS Zephyr 420 kV, Romania, Stupina is successfully finished. 420 kV Double cable circuit (total 360 m) was energised Dec 2012. Turn key project (delivery installation and commissioning) included power cable, 6 pcs GIS- and 6 outdoor sealing ends produced by Suedkabel. For ENEL 110 kV Substation at Stupina, we delivered a double cable circuit (total 540 m). Due to high transmission requirement, the cable construction employed conductor cross section of 2500 mm ², produced by Demirer Kablo, 6 GIS Plug-In sealing ends 6 outdoor selaing ends and link boxes. The big cross-section of conductor and the limited space inside 110 kV Substation required exothermic CADWELD welding. Joints can be installed in a standard way on an aluminum core of this section using a crimp ferrule, but for sealing ends welding is mandatory. The installation, under the supervision of the senior specialist from «Suedkabel» was carried out the company “Promont.” The line has been successfully energised.
